A pantry is a room or closet in a house or apartment where non-perishable food and other household supplies are stored. In the past, pantries were common in homes because they provided a place to store food that did not need to be refrigerated.
Today, many people still use pantries to store dry goods, such as flour, sugar, and rice, as well as canned goods, spices, and other cooking supplies. Some pantries are also used to store dishes, pots and pans, and other kitchen equipment.
